Sun visor lights intermittent
Well yes, not exactly the end of the world, but hey most of us are here because we want our cars perfect!
I replaced the bulbs in my visors with LED festoons recently and noticed one side was somewhat dim and varied; occasionally it didn't work at all. It's not the obvious wiring around the switch and bulbs (behind the mirror) nor is it the metal contacts on the end at the centre. It seems to be something inside the body of the visor or near the swivel attachment, presumably the wire comes through the inside of that swivelling tube. Manipulating the body of the visor makes the lights go on and off, though not in any totally predictable way. I've done this with the cover/mirror removed and the switch taped down so I know it's not that simple. I can't see any obvious way to get further inside the visor, or to detach it from the car. It's an alcantara-covered one so looks pretty impregnable! Anyone know how? |
Dont know if this will help?

elsawin has some good info on taking off the sunvisor. It was just a couple of screws holding it up.
I had to replace my nearside sunvisor as the light wasn't working. It turn out to be the switch that is operated when you open the slide to view the mirror that was playing up on mine |

They appear to be sites that are trying to get people to download other programmes first by dangling the prospect of the thing you do want as the end game . . . if anyone has actually downloaded the proper PDF then please upload it and I would suggest not clicking on links as it will just download an exe file for another programme you dont want
