Fitting centre caps

Guys - is there a knack to fitting centre caps on 20 inch wheels? I've bought some off ebay and they don't seem to slot in nicely, feel like they aren't tight fit and may spin off as the wheels get going.

Anyone else had issues? Or am I missing something obvious.

It's often the circular metal ring that dictates the fit. The best solution is to fit the rings from the original centre caps, but failing that, if they're loose, try stretching them. I've had to cut a few mm off because they've been too tight.

Cheap Chinese eBay caps do not fit properly. Ever. The end.

This is because to lugs are made too thick and the wrong length/geometry.

You CAN get a fairly snug fit by using a spring ring (if you can find one) that is made of thinner metal wire so allows the lugs to bend more easily.

BUT even if you do that (as I have) they will still sit an annoying mm or two proud of the wheel.

(For "show" I have a set of genuine OEM ones as well ;) )

Also, make sure they're correctly aligned with the notch. First time I tried to refit mine I struggled until I notice the notch. Just align them and give them a thump.
