Good day today

After many years rebuilding my VW camper van (chassis, body, suspension, brakes, engine, wiring etc) it finally drove under its own power.
Was just on the drive going forward and backwards but was a great feeling :)

Just need a tweak of the handbrake and sort out the NSF indicator light which has stopped working (could just be the bulb I hope) and will then take it off SORN and drive it around the block to check how everything else performs.

Well done Andy. Soon as it's finished you'll need a new project. An 8 maybe? +++

Far too many due to work/life and cash (too much of the first and not enough of the other two :) ) - somewhere in the region of 15 years (yes, you heard that, 15 years.....................)

Taxed it the other day (free and does not require an MOT either).
Today, mounted the rear bumper and reversed it out of the drive and took it round the block.
Everything works, lights, indicators, gears, brakes, accelerator, handbrake so pleased.
A slight rubbing noise which I suspect is a brake (couldn't tell where it was coming from but as the speed increased so did the speed of the noise - if that makes sense).

Forgot what it was like to drive a vehicle with no power steering or power brakes - flipping heck

A few niggles still to sort out.
And a quick pic of it the other day:

Retired indoors and listening to a few records now - all is good with the world +++
