What functions for the Boot mounted tail lights?
Just doing a pre MOT check of the lights e.t.c.
The tailights mounted on the boot house the reverse lights (working), But do they have any other lights or are they just reflectors? I ask as nothing else seems to illuminate but there does appear to be a secondary set of wires in there? |
Have you tried turning on your rear fog lights?
|
A second set of tail lights plus fog light
|
And (usually) the fog light wiring goes to both sides so you "can" add the bulb holder and bulb and have dual fog lights. +++
Only problem is that the plastic moulding on the "empty" side is probably missing it's metallic reflective material, which will give an unbalanced light and, in the UK anyway, a possible MOT fail. (I added one anyway and then fed some adhesive reflective metallic strips through the hole to make mine "acceptable") ;) |
Thanks all
Seems I have reverse lights each so DE e and fog light on the rightfully working. Rear lights doing nothing on the boot clusters, odd that both sides out, wonder if they are fused seperately to the the corner clusters? |
Could be just the bulbs failed? There's no warning if they fail, only on the brake lights.
|
Handbook suggests they are fused on the same circuit as the reversing lights so that's says no to a fuse.
Hopefully just bulbs though odd for them both to go. Will check in the morning |
