Dreaming of new wheels...9J X 21 ET60

Hi guys,

I'm not great with wheel sizes but would there be any issues putting 9J 21" wheels with an ET60 on a D3? What tires would it need?

Also any advice on how it affects the stance (given the offset) and speedo much appreciated +++

What's the offset on your current wheels?! ET60 sounds like a hell of a lot for a quattro Audi. They're usually around ET30ish depending on width and model, so they're going to stick out a lot more potentially. That's fine if you were going to fit spacers anyway, but I reckon they'll probably stick out too far

Hi Oli
If you look at the following chart your best fit for those would be 275 30 21 tyres instead of 35's on the FE wheels. I believe the FE wheels are ET40 offset so as you will see there is very little difference between rolling radius on the above suggestion, but you may need to space the wheel back out slightly again as the new ones will sit further in slightly but you could always try it and see and space them back out again. There is generally loads of clearance on a D3 compared to a D2 so shouldnt be a great problem to shift to 21's +++

Thanks chaps!

Was thinking of maybe keeping a look out for some Q7 FE wheels and diamond cutting them - think they would look immense as they are like my old D3 FEs but bigger  but wasn't sure the offset would work though.

60 offset is not going to work very well without spacers and I am not the fan of spacers.

On the other hand Q7 wheels have PCD of 130mm instead of 112mm so would need adapters anyway. Original wheels have ET 44-46 so you would need 14-16mm thick adapters for wheels to be in the same space. Any thicker and they will work as spacers as well bringing wheels more out.

Bit of a scrape on the OSR wheel arch and looks lowered as well?
But it also has LPG which isn't mentioned in the advert (or a MASSIVE fire extinguisher?).
