Make sure all the instrument cluster lights work, especially ABS and Engine management. My abs light was "disabled" so it didn't show up an abs fault....

Could be oil leaks or something like that but first thing I'd check is the battery connection under the drivers side front wheel arch. Make sure nothing is shorting out.

Does anyone know the torque setting for the bolts that hold the inlet manifold to the block please? My info seems to suggest 25Nm but that seems quite high to me for the size of bolts.

So...... an update.

Got the NOS unit from the US but unfortunately it arrived with a broken vacuum pod. Seller was super helpful, perhaps a little too helpful and refunded me the cost of a new one...

I use this when I want to run the fuel pump. It's literally an old fuel pump relay with the plastic cap removed. Push down on the top with your finger and the fuel pump runs. If its working of course.

Well I managed to pull out the broken part by simply removing the throttle body. It looks like a clean break so I am confident there are no other bits floating around.
