Remember the cabin filters are actually on the underside of the bonnet. They're pretty well protected there (and in a nice warm place!) so wouldn't normally get residual damp.

Not like other cars...

Welcome. I find the aircon does often smell a bit odd if you turn it onto econ. The solution is to not do that but just leave it on Auto all the time. ;)
