I believe the reason for the boot being smaller in part is due to the amount of electronics in the car, which are positioned across the length of the back seat. Not sure about the rest of the boot.

I forgot about that suggestion about trimming the ends (which I also did to the ones in the wheel arches).

Soaking them in warm/hot water to make them a bit more flexible also helps when refitting.

The limits of ACC on the D3 are 20mph to 120mph. It gives an audible warning if it goes below 20mph. No idea about the other extreme.

The more recent D4 and D5 have much more advanced ACC systems...
