That has been done in the past - keep the TCU and fudge the F125 to be in neutral so the engine still runs ok, but its a nasty hack. If I'm going to do it I'll be making it the way the factory did...

I don't see any advantage in taking it out tbh. The polishing pads will happily work around the contours of where the grille and metalwork meet, and taking it out runs a very high risk of tabs...
