Iím going to remove the weird fibre arch liners, and clean and treat the arches themselves.....hoping to find only surface rust :rolleyes:

I replaced a mechanism years ago on one of mine. I drilled out the rivets, swapped over a good one from a donor, and used nilock nuts and bolts in place of rivets. Haven't had to touch it since.
