So the car is finally in for its gearbox oil...

So the car is finally in for its gearbox oil change. Im also having the OS inlet manifold taken off so an independant assessor can see it and hopefully pay out for a new one, new fuel filter, oil...

I had a 56 plate 3.0 TDI Altitude in deep blue with a cream interior. 19" rims and xenons. Absolutelty loved it. Only ever managed about 25mpg though.

So had Four Rings come out and have a look at my 8. the boot motor is intermittently not working (which is annoying). While dean was here i told him i noticed an error on vcds relating to the OS...

Im after decent wear and not costing the earth. Dont mind a bit more road noise if the wear is better. Currently on 255/40/19.

just heard it when i put my foot down and gearbox dropped down a gear. Really sounds like a squeak, short sharp like a door hinge.

Have just noticed a squeaking noise under hard acceleration. Seems to happen at gear change only. Any ideas? And should i be worried? :-(

Just wondered if the gearbox on the 4.0tdi is the same as on the 4.2tdi?

Reason i ask is cause am considering a remap. I just think 300 is such a magic number and 275 is just a bit short!! ;)
