Given that I do 100 miles a day and I've already replaced it as a workhorse, I don't think there's a viable option other than to scrap it after 5 years of loyal service! :(

Then you have the issue fitting a 2nd hand unit. It could fail, it could have issues, problems matching it etc.

Not worth it on a 200k car.:(

Tried initially to get a 2nd hand unit but could't get one (even from the sponsers) that had a matching part number (essential apparently or the ECU won't match) ...

OK, My A8 3.0tdi gearbox has gone. It still moves but won't change up from 3rd and there's some mechanical grinding noises.

It's done just over 200k. There's relatively new 19" wheels & tires...

Folks

Advice please, My 'Fan Belt' came off yesterday,so I got a new one. Put it into my local garage this morning and it's the Air Con pump that's seized, which has caused said belt to fail.
