There are 2 microswitches to sense the bonnet unlock and they are positioned at the bottom of the near and off-side catches (not the central secondary catch....

Thanks for the quick reply. My bonnet has 2 main catches (near and off side) and a third, secondary catch, in the centre. Do you know which one has the microswitch?

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks the 'engine out to replace a bulb' design is a bit daft.

So far I have got as far as un-doing the torx screws covering the front half of the wheel...
