It sounds like more of a rumble/grinding sound, definitely sounds like it’s coming from the engine area while driving, seems to happen more when the engine is warm and when under load/accelerating...

Great thanks, would that engine with that engine cover have been fitted to an A8 though? The A8 I’ve seen has that design fitted not the usual design I’ve seen previously on all the other A8 v6’s...

Running costs are the main factor for the choice of 2.8, I know it won’t be a vast difference but a few extra MPG’s would be useful:)

I’ve come across an A8 D2 fitted with the engine pictured, obviously it’s a 2.8 V6 but the engine cover and design appears completely different to all the other 2.8’s I’ve seen?
