The part numbers in Etka are very similar
For a '96 it lists 4d2422052b (with an x for an exchange unit on the end) and lists it as 'FA ZF'
For a 2002 it lists 4d2422052f (with x) and lists as 'ZF'
Given the number is the same it suggests only a revision, but Etka doesn't mark the f revision of superseding the b part number, which it just says has been dropped.
It definitely relates to PF/FL as the old number changes in '99 based on VIN.
I suspect the forum sponsors are your best port of call for a physical comparison?
