Its also an indication of the sheer numbers of D4's sold in the UK vs D2s and D3s so when the cars come through there are more to go around less buyers!

I find that the D4 doesn't depreciate as quickly as D3s though...
For example: When I was looking for my 4.2 TDI 2 1/2 years ago, 6 year old ones were maybe around £12k mark. 6 year old D4 4.2 TDI is still at least £18k if the mileage is less than 100k.
Equally 7/8 year old D3 4.2 TDI is sub 10k. Can't see D4s depreciating from current £18k+ to sub £10k in a years time. Or maybe they will after the D5 comes to market?
