I used the former myself in the late 80s. The company I worked for at the time bought one for the engineers to share so that when we thought we'd finished for the day and we were on our way home, they could call us and ask us to go to another job. Thankfully however, reception was never great on those phones, especially when you unscrewed the aerial mid-call

The second one, in fact mine looks identical to that one and was fully working when stored away lol, I've even got the "carrying case"
