If you loop out radio or amp or telephone does it go to sleep then ?
Is it only looping out the nav that makes it go to sleep .?
The door handles like said can cause an issue but I just cannot see how looping out the nav could be linked ( but you never know ! )
By using a meter in line and looking at dormant current draw it gives you a clue as to what to look for ....is it a big draw or not so much
On the bigger cars I use a shunt inbeteeen the battery cable and ‘ tap up ‘ off that ....it’s because when they wake up they can draw a lot of current and in an average multimeter the fuse will be blowing all the time .
With the door handle buttons it’s the case that water gets in the switch and this wakes body module whilst asleep ...pulls out about 6/7 amps for a few mins at a time .
If you leave the optical cable in the nav unit but unplug the power feeds plug what happens then , does it go to sleep then
