took both mine apart last summer, one of the hand brake levers wouldn't come out of the caliper housing(small pin holding it i think), but did manage to get it working with wd40. however it siezed again after one month. other caliper lever came out to clean rust off. but tiny seal was not damaged,so no problem on that side of the hand brake.
