The boots were full of fluid also so seals are shot.. newer rack was nice and dry but module wires torn off right to the nub..

Essentially rack placed in fixture holding tie rod ends then rubber plug pulled. Drop dial indicator within and move column connector to measure lash. Screw cover int/out..When tolerance range met pin cover with punch. I'm willing to give it a go..
