Next step has to be to disconnect the TREs at the ball joint and move the raised wheels side to side. Also to move the steering rack while TREs disconnected. If the former results in creaking then it will be the suspension arms at fault. If the latter then it must be the rack. If there's no creaking then it must be the TREs themselves. Does that sound like a reasonably logical plan?
