This is what I have done five minutes ago, this is a quick fix.
Depends how bad are your tips, it may require more time with the polish
Before
After WD40, then apply autosol
They I fold the cloth like that and wrap it around the tip. Left hand on left side, right hand on right side and then pulling each end down in sequence left right left right for the quickest result.
