Yes thats it. Engine running and monitor the gearbox temp in VCDS. When it gets to 30C, take the large filler plug out and pump oil in until it dribbles out (this will usually cool it down a couple of degrees). Wait until 35C and when its stopped dripping, put the plug back in.

Its 9 litres total - 5 in the sump, 2 in the converter and a couple more in the gubbins of it. The point at which I've noticed they squeal is about 3 litres short, but tbh if its leaking you really need to pull the sump and re-seal it.

I've noticed that when the average grunt puts the sump back on they don't use a torque wrench and just heave on the bolts. This bends the sealing flange and crushes the gasket at which point it leaks everywhere. I have spent too many hours with a hammer and straight-edge fixing them Gaskets are cheaper on ebay than from TPS, and a smear of blue hylomar helps to make sure it seals up properly.
