I think it's mainly the American and UK based exchanges that have the strictest ID requirements, especially if they're dealing in fiat ... it's all that AML/KYC crap, which (somewhat ironically) cryptocurrencies could some day free us from.

There are a few decentralised exchanges being developed (built using blockchain tech), such as IDEX, but they're still relatively small yet.

Cryptopia (based in NZ) is one of the better non-US exchanges as far as ID requirements go. Didn't even have to fill in my real name or address there (in fact looking at my account details, it states I'm in Afghanistan and my DOB is just some random date)
