The DPF on the 3.0 is a double unit that includes a small catalyst to create regeneration heat prior to the filter. The whole lot can be crumbled out by ramming a crowbar or stake in one end. Very messy job though and wear a mask. Then the casing is intact. Just need to uninstall DPF.EXE
from the ECU out by a chip tuner such as Shark.
