Just done the sensor gel pad today was a 10min job at best, you can buy them online. Worth a try first as a few pounds to see if it fixes it. You've just got to remove the cover unclip clean off the old gel pad from the sensor and windscreen fit the new pad to the sensor and put back in place
I think the gel pad cooks over time as when i took it off was like jelly.
