...going off at a bit of a tangent, I've just used the £144 remaining in my paypal account from these t-shirt payments - I'd paid upfront on my Amex card - to book 12 Virgin Intercity returns in the Virgin Seat Sale (mostly Warrington - Glasgow, but some Manchester - London), and saved a whopping £884 in the process
Whilst I love driving, I do prefer to let the train take the strain if it's a long and simple "A to B" journey - and you don't have to contend with the strict Scottish alcohol limitations either

For those considering a similar trip between now and Christmas on a Virgin rail route, it's well worth taking a look - at £22 for a return to London, or £12 for a return to Glasgow, it's very good value, and their sale ends tomorrow.
