Yeah same thing The picture of the hose is from an A4, so ignore that bolt-on bracket. The bracket on the D2 is welded to the body - it looks intact in your picture at first glance (red outline) but has it actually broken off the body (red arrow)?

Simplest fix for this is to get some aluminium angle about 2-3mm thick and make a new bracket. If you make it 25-30mm square you can get 5 rivets in it to attach it to the body, and use some polyurethane panel bond behind it to add strength and seal it up. That's assuming you can't tig weld of course!
