So I went to Techno Classica Essen- lucky me, not much Audi though. Not the best show, Paris and Brum are better. So with time to kill in Essen I went to the Fantastic Red Dot Museum in a converted colliery complex, which, in itself is a fantastic place. Think of the UK's national cola mining museum on a 10x scale.
The red dot Museum is a design museum celebrating cool + functional design for all sorts of things and it is hosted in a stunning brick building that used to house the coking ovens. Much of the industrial equipment is still in place including coal bucket lines, duct work and walkways. To celebrate 20 years of the Audi Aluminium Space Frame, there, hanging from the ceiling was a completely naked D2. It gives you idea of the scale of the museum and the magnificence of the D2. I took too many photos but here are a few. Somehow during the upload they all were turned 90 degrees any suggestion how to rotate them back?
