How would you explain the difference in feel between 00001 and 00011?
(I've only ever had 00101 and 00111 and I thought S8's were normally 001xx anyway not 000xx )
My car is a '00 FL but all the build stickers in the car suggest it was built around Oct'99 so it may be one of the first FL's off the line?
The gearbox is 5 speed and it has a fly by wire throttle so it's certainly a FL.
Wouldn't accept 00111 at all.
I had been trying 00131 and a few other codes from the various links in this thread but it wouldn't accept anything other than 00011

Haven't really played with it much, it's holding 2-3, 3-4 and 4-5 in relaxed driving longer and much longer in harder acceleration.
Downshifts coming in to a roundabout without coming to a full stop are much smoother. With 00001 coding the car would have tended to drop in to first even when still rolling so accelerating away tended to be lumpy/jerky. It's holding 2nd now.

I need a good Ulster 'A' road to try the kickdown and play with the tiptronic a bit but that will have to wait a couple of days as I'm off to Birmingham on business.
