The offset one gave more leverage for undoing the old lambdas at least I think this is the one he used, you cant use it for doing it back up to the correct torque unless you do some maths and adjust for the lever action of the crows foot.
Edit - although thinking about it, maybe a direct one with a longer wrench on the end of the extension is better.
