As delboy says, get a pela oil extractor, get the car up to temperature, drain the oil through the dipstick tube, undo filter housing on top of engine, remove filter and suck all the oil out the filter housing, new filter, fill with oil, reset service indicator and enjoy another 10k miles
Costs me, after buying the tools (oil extractor, 32mm socket (iirc)) about £45 to £50 to do an oil and filter change
