Trust me, the 25K miles I have done in mine have been far from light, I boot it all the time, the problem is that the fuel doesn't flow over the inlet manifold, so it doesn't get cleaned, newer FSI engines switch between two sets of injectors and clean on the second inject pass, these engines never do hence they build up no matter what, its a design flaw.

I didn't think mine was slow, but clearly its been gradually going down on power and I never noticed, probably because it was down when I first got her.

I've been told to expect better fuel consumption anyway because the car will be able to breath better.

Incidentally, if your car is solid and done 160,000 whats to recommend selling her? how many miles have you done in that time?
