The fault is referring to the touch sensor, not the button.

I've got that same fault intermittently on all my doors, it does not seem to affect the function of the keyless apart from having to lift the handle twice from locked to open the door.

I also have lots of other faults in a VCDS scan but none affect the car dramatically, for example my rear footwell heaters are dead and the recirculation motor for the heater (engine bay) is jammed open.

My car is 15 years old and I am realistic in expecting to have some minor faults that are not cost effective to repair, mostly because parts are becoming no longer available and you'd need to use secondhand parts to replace broken ones, and they may not last long.
