This could be a good time to get a decent S8 with the D5 S8 is now being delivered and some good examples getting traded in.
Apart from the S model the D5's seem to comprise only V6's, either diesel or petrol. I tried liking them but couldn't even though I've seen some 2019/2020's with delivery mileage for pretty much what I paid for the D4. But if you're going to be putting a lot of miles on it the D5 is probably the rational way to go.
