Sounds like a misread rather than dead.
When they are dead, the system beeps once and then turns off and goes back to MMI screen and sets a fault code. Yours just seem to be giving the wrong signals.
Do you have the graphic of which sensor is showing the obstacle on your PDC screen on the MMI?
