You're far more likely to have to do an emergency stop on the road than on the track. Additionally, the deceleration force of a D4 is significantly higher than its acceleration.

This is why the "I don't drive like I'm on a track" argument is fundamentally flawed. Driving on the road is much more unpredictable, and the margins when you overstep the limit are considerably smaller.
