The voltage relates more to the external insulation rating, the current capacity is about the conductors/contacts and resistance.

In any case your 25A charger will probably only push 1-2A when charging, less if the battery is already fully charged. The 25A will likely only be in a "supply" mode, check the manual to be sure but I can't see it being a limiting factor on using a tow hook to keep it topped up.

Yes the battery may only pull a few amps when it has a state of charge higher than flat but its not a good idea to build something on the principle, one day it might need the full 25amps and then there would be problems.

I have trawled the net this evening and not really found anything that I like yet other than stuff on alibaba that has min order restrictions.

I shall continue on my search.
