It was me the car is a 96 so fairly old with solar roof. We were throwing the car around a bit to be fair but not silly, i don't remember any tyre screech.
The fix was to ring A8 Parts for a replacement fan, not a hard job to swap over. I had a bit of trouble with a couple of screws that had been in there for 16 years and snapped the heads off. No fix for it as far as i could see as drilling them out would be a nightmare, the drill will want to wonder into the plastics. It has been fine tho so far.
