this worked for me as mine opened everytime i gave the car stick knocking the passenger on the knees.although i still have a issue once its locked and iv driven the car a bit i cannot unlock it without a stuggle.

if you ly in the footwell with it open look behind the lock mechanism wheer the key goes in or try get your hand behind it there is a adjustment screw on the cable end similar to a bicycle brake adjustment.just mess around with that small turn by turn till its right.becareful not to over do it as i did then you wont get it open once closed.
if its not that take it out and have a look at how the lock is fixed to the back of the glovebox as with mine i had to poprivet it back on. the lock had torn away from the glovebox.
