Not much progress this week as I am plotting the audio installation and acquiring hardware.

I put a replacement electronics box back in after cleaning and waxing the paintwork. Its nice to have an FL1 which is lacquered under the bonnet as it can be made shiny, but it also shows up scratches a lot more than the FL2 matt unlacquered finish.

This Kenwood 5-channel amp fits perfectly on the original Bose bracket:

These new D-class amps are quite impressive. They are tiny for their power capacity - this one is as powerful as the Phoenix Gold paving slab I have in the back of the grey S8, and can output enough watts to melt the Bose amp in to a shiny puddle, but its the size of a hardback book! Its a very smart little thing too so its a shame to not have it on show, but it fits so perfectly in the space it just had to stay there. Plus this is not a showing-off build as I've already said. I will make up a carpeted panel to sit on top of the amp to protect it, then I can still use the area for storage, but I'll make some vents in it to keep the amp cool.

2Kg of hardware put back in, plus 3Kg of cabling. 13Kg to go...
