Pheaton 8 pot Brembos?
Hi folks
I'm sure I've asked this before but not got a definitive answer, so I'll try in a thread of its own and see what happens!
There seems to be a few set of 8 pot Brembo calipers removed from Pheatons which look like they use a similar brake disc to the B7 RS4. They'll obviously fit under 20s all day long and would potentially be a worthwhile upgrade. Not sure if they're identical to the Bentley/W12 calipers or not?
Off the car they look like this:
I've never really paid much attention to how the factory Brembos on my S8 are mounted, but are the mounting points in the same axis, or out by 90 degrees?
I seem to remember there's a Birmingham based company that will make up CNC brackets if they aren't a straight fit but I can't recall their details if I would need brackets.
The brakes don't give great confidence if you're pressing on, even though mine has OEM discs and pads, and can feel a bit under-braked for the weight of the car at times. It's about the only criticism I have of the car dynamically apart from the gearing.
Adrian
