To be fair, what is the point of having a car if you don't actually use it? I see mine as a tool, I like to keep it sharp and looking good but ultimately it is functional.
Child seats are a necessary part of that, yes they may cause some problems but without them I can't use the car - what is the alternate, but a worse car that I am not as worried about!?
FWIW - I have used the clips when there is a need to install and remove frequently, but for a long term install I have carefully installed an ISOFIX base without them as it deforms the leather less.
