I've been slowly replacing the rear subframe in my S8 due to rust issues on the original subframe. One thing I have figured out is that it was designed to be assembled outside the car and then installed into the car as a unit.
I put the bare subframe in and then started putting parts on it. There's quite a few bolts that you simply can't get to with a torque wrench once the subframe is in the car.
