So im back and so is the S8
Gave it a wash, clay and wax as the paint was in poor condition - a bit rushed but much better than before
Only managed to cover 20 odd miles in it but have enjoyed these very much! First time v8 owner so even blipping the throttle put a smile on the face
average 15.9 mpg less so but this is about the same as the Beemer I'll be moving on shortly.
Loved its get up and go, but will have to get used to the loud pedal as i found it very sensitive.easy to hit illegal speeds without realising too!
Few areas need attention:
Smell of oil on the exhaust- last nvoice suggests leaking transmission sump - could this be it? I'd like to get a trans oil change done anyway, maybe a good time to get seen too.
Previous invoice also noted 'signs of coolant stains on the engine' - not sure how I missed this when viewing it but could this be serious? Engine temps were solid at 90deg, no signs of Mayo in the oil filler either so hopefully not serious.
2-3 dings on each flank need sorting - could a PDR chap remove these or would I need to go to a specialist in Ally repairs? Recommendations in the south east (London/Herts area)?
Cambelt change - are Audi recommended for Cambelt change or should I get and indie to do it - initial quote requests show they are very similar, but don't know if the Audi dealer work cover as much as an Indie.
2 front lower door trims need replacing
Aside from that, it drove really well. Possibly a slight shimmy/vibration at 70 but will check wheel weights are still in place. Won't get everything seen to at once, Cambelt and trans oil change up first methinks
If anyone can tell me how I can confirm the colour I'd really appreciate it!
