Default Wiper motor repair

My wiper motor had become intermittent and sometimes wouldn't start without a knock or a little rush start. I bought a secondhand unit of evilbay but unfortunately it was a left hand drive one! oops!! I though I may be able to use just the motor as this was the same. But when I removed the motor outer case one of the magnets was broken. But the brushes looked good so I removed the whole brushes carrier and pulled mine apart cleaned up the armature in the lathe only with a scotch pad it didn't need a skim. Transplanted the Lhd brushes carrier into mine and rebuilt the motor bench tested it and refit it. while the linkage was out I stripped it and greased all the moving parts refitted it, and it now works as I'd imagine a new one would. :-) the wiper motor seems excellent quality compared with others I've seen. I just need to find a good supplier for the brushes and the plastic ball joints in the linkage now.
So a good Sunday afternoon better than paying £175 + vat
