Well I'm well aware what a perfect conditioned Late D3 Quattro Sport in the black with sub 80,000 miles goes for and at the time when I was looking spending £18,000 on one of these was not an option for me, so looking around I opted to take this one on with 69,741 miles for £10,000 and to be fair with the car it's done everything I expected of it and more, I'm sure all cars of this age need one or two things doing to them, what I wasn't expecting was for the likes of the Main dealers (first time ever owning an Audi) to be so difficult and so against getting anything done. Three times it's been with them at almost a collective £500 and still they've not even put in the air quality sensor that I bought to swap over which showed up on one of the computer scans... so if they can't get that little thing done and only repair the parts that happened to go wrong whilst in their car, and hand me back the car with everything that it went there to fix I'm extremely reluctant to go back a fourth time. I felt for the money the car was great value for money and I've been happy with it. I've no doubt that if I was well then this car wouldn't even be considered for sale as I'd somehow do the work myself and these small faults that are causing so much trouble and inconvenience for me, well they just wouldn't be there. Just happy motoring. But it's Friday and I've been to hospital three times this week and need to get about, as a motability customer this was sorted without any hassle and owning just one car now, and having it go of to garages for days at a time, coming back the same leaving my housebound and cancelling or rearranging hospital appointments to get the car up to the level it needs to be has become more than is acceptable and hence after my second visit for a non main dealer but Audi speciality to take money of me when attempting to get the bonnet open, being left with, "it needs crow barring open!" only says to me, more expense, more days off the road, more days missing appointments... I can't keep doing this.

Thanks TC, I live in Cornwall and my Audi A8 D3 count has now reached 4 since I bought the car in May... there is just nobody in Cornwall with them, my old Evo days we always used to get together and work on each others cars and in doing that they were always perfect and we never ever went to the main dealers we were covered. But down here is main dealers only and as you've already read they've let me down greatly. as have two different independents... although one of them did correct the light ballast for £50 the Audi main dealer said that they couldn't do for less than £2,200

Hey Roberto, I looked at you White A8 when I was last logged on and she is truly something awesome, but you will admit it takes work... Mine however is also a stunning car, in fact yesterday when coming back from the hospital I dropped it in to the Polish boys for them to give it's mid winter wash and hoover and as they brought it out I watched and have to say I thought then I must be off my head for wanting to let a few niggles that refuse to sort in favour of a bottom of the range Astra or similar just wrapped up with the convince of Motability and warranties persuade me out of this car... it looked amazing yesterday all clean, and I drove it home and felt good. Have a look.

So price wise, it has a value but it has distractions that will put people off and not having an opening bonnet is a big one... it's far too good a car to break as the engine is good, strong and low mileage. But at this point I would accept a realistic offer or be happy to pay someone to get the bits done I need to get to sorted. I just can't be doing with any more hassle and pointless expense to only end up where I already am.

I'll post some interior pictures in a moment as I've found some on my other computer, I remember someone asking for some from a previous post.

Regards,

Mark.

Future Plans:
Selling my current Audi A8 Quattro Sport and replace is with a newer D4 Audi A8L with the 4.2V8 Twin Turbo setup once again it must be black. I'm looking for one with the options added where it has the rear recliing seats, with heated outers. Bose speakers minimum and B&O's if affordable. Rear and back door sun blinds prefered.

Planned Mods:
Upon the arrival of my A8L D4, I will be once again having the ECU remapped to a performance setting over economy. Rear Tints as dark as can go whilst also tinting the front windows with a medium tint. Once again I will be purchasing lowering links for the air ride suspension and setting it at 55mm lower when in comfort as my desire rideheight over standard. Alloys will be 21" however the one current most likly to be the next car already has a brand new set of 2016 S8Plus wheels on it.
