I had exactly this problem on my D2 S8 just over a year ago. The trouble is I live in Dubai and quality repairs of this nature are difficult to find. There is a ZF agent out hear but I have heard horror stories about them. I had it rebuilt by a 'specialist' for the equivalent of 1500 quid but it is certainly not right. Clunky and slow changes. I would go for quality repairs every time. You may think some repair shops in the UK are poor but some of the cowboys out here make the cowboys in the UK look like good, honest professionals.
