I can 100% second the Mackie's recommendation: they saved and rebuilt my S8 gearbox after it showed signs of imminent failure - I'll never forget the nail-biting 230 mile drive to Glasgow with it slipping, particularly on the M6 climb at Shap
. Like Jim's, mine gets regular servicing from them, and is stronger and smoother now with 120k on the clock than when I bought it on 20k.
If I were buying yours, that would be the first thing I would book it in for.
