I modified mine a few weeks ago to close with the remote. It's a great feature to have when you need it.
If your hands are full carrying stuff out of the car, hit the button. If you're stopped at security on the way out of a building and they want to check your trunk, it opens and closes from the button in the driver door. Or, if you want to have some fun, you can make the boot breakdance!
